Curiosity Approach
Welcome to our Journey!
At our school we are passionate about inspiring our children to be the ‘thinkers and doers’ of the future. So we are embarking on an incredible new approach which inspires children through curiosity, awe and wonder.
Over the upcoming year we are looking to reflect on our current practice and standards, to provide an environment with authentic resources, recycled materials and loose parts that inspire children with open-ended learning opportunities.
We will be reflecting on questions such as: Are we inspired to play, tinker, linger and explore? Is it too noisy, cluttered and over stimulating? Does the environment feel homely, inviting and not institutionalised? Do we have aspects of nature within our setting? Are resources easily accessible and thoughtfully presented? Are there opportunities to access authentic resources, loose parts and recycled materials? Do our environments encourage children to learn how to think, not what to think?
We have enclosed an information leaflet that explains the reasoning why this approach will bring a wealth of new opportunities and learning for our children. We hope that you enjoy reading it and if you have any questions please ask.
We hope that you can help us along our journey by saving any of the following recycled materials and loose parts:
